Heroic: Trial of the Champion

Enter the Trial of the Champion through the most northern entrance, then mount one of the horses along the side of the arena and speak to the NPC in the middle to begin the event.

The first round of combat takes place on horseback, identical to the daily 'Amongst the Champions' event. If you die during this phase, run to the side and mount a remaining horse immediately.

After the mounted round, 12 NPCs enter — 3 bosses and 9 trash. Trash attacks in groups of three; defeat all trash groups, then kill the three bosses in any order. Note that not all possible champions appear in a single run — Argent Confessor Paletress and others may not show up every attempt, requiring additional runs.

If Argent Confessor Paletress appears, she summons a random NPC such as Hogger or Algalon with roughly 362k HP near a random player — she is immune to all damage while this add is alive, so kill it first. All players should position themselves behind her at all times, as she attacks anyone standing in front of her. Tanks cannot reliably hold her aggro through taunts except briefly with paladin or warrior taunts.

During phase one, the Black Knight applies diseases curable by priests and paladins, and deals them primarily on the tank. In phase two, have the tank kite him around the room to avoid his uncurable AoE slow and damage. In phase three, stack all players together so the healer can reach everyone. When the Black Knight dies, his ghouls explode — move away from stationary ghouls to avoid the blast.

After the champion round, each of the three bosses returns at full health and must be defeated again individually.
