Check your current item level status
Open your character panel and note which gear slots are below item level 285. Use the macro /run local n=tInvert(Enum.ItemRedundancySlot),a;for i=0,16 do a = C_ItemUpgrade.GetHighWatermarkForSlot(i); if a < 285 then print(a, n) end end to print only the slots that need upgrades.

Obtain item level 285 gear from Midnight Season 1 sources such as PvP rewards, mythic+ dungeons, raid drops, or crafted items, then upgrade each slot that is below the threshold.
