Mastering the Visions

After the pre-patch stat squish, mob and boss scaling in Horrific Visions is severely off-balance on 8 masks — regular mobs deal roughly 25% of your health per hit and bosses can one-shot you, so approach these runs expecting a significant challenge regardless of item level.

Running these visions as a tank spec is strongly recommended; mob auto-attacks and the bolstering effect when enemies die near each other are far more survivable on a tank, whereas DPS specs face repeated wipes to basic trash pulls.

Have your Hourglass of power-ups fully upgraded and your tributes at maximum rank before attempting an 8-mask run, as this directly impacts your ability to survive the tuned-up encounters.

Engage only one group of adds at a time throughout both the Vision of Stormwind and the Vision of Orgrimmar — fighting multiple packs simultaneously causes your health to drop near instantly on 8 masks.

Before attempting full 8-mask clears, become familiar with the hardest trash packs, mini-boss mechanics, main boss mechanics, and the affixes active in each zone of both visions so you know which areas to prioritize or avoid.

If playing a class with multiple viable specs, consider adapting your spec per vision — for example, a Rogue at 665 or higher item level can use Assassination in Stormwind to better handle silencing adds, and Subtlety in Orgrimmar to eliminate bosses and trash quickly.

Both visions do not need to be completed solo — bringing another player is a valid strategy and can significantly ease the difficulty of the 8-mask scaling issues.
