Light's Gambit Champion is earned by defeating Rytr Paller in a game of Light's Gambit on Hard Difficulty at Dunelle's Kindness in Hallowfall.

Complete the Prerequisite Quest

Before Rytr Paller becomes interactable, finish the 'Light's Gambit' quest in Hallowfall. Without completing it, you cannot challenge him.

Find and Challenge Rytr Paller

Find Rytr Paller at 69.11, 45.66 in Hallowfall at Dunelle's Kindness — he is a child seated at a table. Right-click him and select the option to challenge him to a game of Light's Gambit on Hard Difficulty (Master Formation).

Eliminate the Enemy Cleric First

As soon as the game begins, prioritize killing the enemy Cleric (the healer piece) with your Knight by moving it behind the enemy Castle and using Holy Assault. Use your Cleric to spam Heal while the enemy Knight is alive, then switch to Smite on the enemy Cleric and Castle.

Position Behind the Enemy Castle

Move both of your pieces behind the enemy Castle and keep attacking it from there — this avoids the Castle's black frontal attack. Use your Castle's Cannon Fire on the enemy Knight when available. Once the enemy Castle is destroyed, finish off the remaining enemy Knight to win the match and earn the achievement.

Tips

  • If a piece you are controlling has all its abilities on cooldown, switch to controlling a different piece rather than waiting idle.

  • Use your Castle's Cannon Fire (long cooldown) on the enemy Knight whenever it is available.
