Catch all fish throughout Khaz Algar and turn in the quest within the Mereldar Fishing Derby time limit.

The Derby Dash is a 10-point achievement earned by catching all required fish throughout Khaz Algar and turning in the quest within the Mereldar Fishing Derby time limit, rewarding the mount Kah, Legend of the Deep.

Accept Quest from Captain Oathmyt

Every Saturday, find Captain Oathmyt at 44.22, 61.59 in Hallowfall. She offers one of the Hallowfall Fishing Derby quests and buffs you with Derby Dasher for 60 minutes upon acceptance. This buff cannot be refreshed or reacquired that day on any character in your Warband, so begin fishing immediately after accepting.

Prepare Your Fishing Skill

A fishing skill of 200–300 is recommended before attempting this achievement. Helpful consumables and gear include the Aqirite Fisherfriend, Artisan Fishing Cap, Phial of Truesight, Algari Weaverline, Enchant Tool - Algari Perception, and the Whispering Squirmworm bait available at 51.7, 24.6.

Fish Festering Rotpool Catches

In The Ringing Deeps or Hallowfall, target Festering Rotpool nodes to catch Bloody Perch, Pale Huskfish, Cursed Ghoulfish, and Dilly-Dally Dace. Calm Surface pools in Dornogal, The Ringing Deeps, and Hallowfall also yield Dilly-Dally Dace.

Fish Glimmerpool Catches

Target Glimmerpool nodes to catch Specular Rainbowfish, Spiked Sea Raven, Crystalline Sturgeon, Bismuth Bitterling, and Goldengill Trout. These pools appear in Dornogal, The Ringing Deeps, and Hallowfall.

Fish Calm Surface and Specialty Pools

Fish Calm Surface pools for Quiet River Bass, Nibbling Minnow, and Dornish Pike across Dornogal, The Ringing Deeps, and Hallowfall. Also target Stargazer Swarm pools in Dornogal for the Whispering Stargazer, which requires stacks of 10 Stargazers per 5 minutes of attempts and is recommended at 315–375 fishing skill.

Turn In Quest to Captain Oathmyt

Once all required fish are caught, return to Captain Oathmyt at 44.22, 61.59 in Hallowfall and turn in the quest before your Derby Dasher buff expires. Progress is retained between weekly resets, so if you fall short in one week you can complete the remaining fish the following Saturday while the buff is active.

Tips

  • The Derby Dasher buff lasts only 60 minutes and cannot be refreshed on the same day across your entire Warband, so use it only when fully prepared.

  • Some fish required for the quest, such as the Queen's Lurefish, can be sourced from the Auction House in advance using bait like Regal Dottyback to speed up that portion of the catch.

  • The Arathor Hammerfish Lure can be purchased and used before the derby to pre-catch the Arathor Hammerfish if it appears in your weekly quest, saving time during the buff window.
