Complete The Ringing Deeps world quest "Reaching for Resources" while leaping to 25 handholds or less.

Hanging Tight is a 5-point achievement earned by completing the Ringing Deeps world quest 'Reaching for Resources' while leaping to 25 handholds or less.

1

Plan Your Route First

Before starting the climb, study a route guide — once you begin climbing and fall off, the achievement is invalidated for that world quest occurrence, even if you have not yet grabbed any handholds. A numbered screenshot of the handholds with gem locations marked is available at https://imgur.com/a/7MORCUZ.

2

Follow the 23-Handhold Path

A proven route exists that collects all 7 objectives in only 23 handholds, keeping you safely under the 25-handhold limit. Be aware that certain crystals cannot be reached and certain rocks are dead ends, so deviating from a tested route risks wasting handholds.

3

Use Spiked Cleats Ability

The route requires using the Spiked Cleats ability at a specific slippery rock — slippery rocks cause you to lose grip and fall, which costs you handholds and can ruin the attempt.

4

Watch Route Video In-Game

If you want to reference a route video while playing, use a picture-in-picture browser feature (such as Safari on macOS) to overlay the video in the corner of your screen, since you cannot descend to recheck the video once the climb has started.

Tips

  • Once you begin the climb, falling off — even without having grabbed any handholds — resets the achievement eligibility for that specific world quest spawn.
