Harbinger of the Runed
Outgrow the use of Runed Harbinger Crests during The War Within Season 1.
Harbinger of the Runed requires you to upgrade every eligible gear slot to at least item level 619, outgrowing the need for Runed Harbinger Crests in The War Within Season 1, and rewards the ability to trade Runed Harbinger Crests for Gilded Harbinger Crests.
Check Missing Slots
Run this macro in-game to see which slots are still below item level 619: /run local n=tInvert(Enum.ItemRedundancySlot),a;for i=0,16 do a = C_ItemUpgrade.GetHighWatermarkForSlot(i); if a < 619 then print(a, n) end end. Note that crafted weapons do not count toward this requirement even if they meet the item level threshold, and using a staff versus a main hand and off hand combination may cause some slots to report differently.
Upgrade Remaining Slots
Bring all eligible slots to item level 619 or higher using Runed Harbinger Crests. If you have excess Runed Harbinger Crests, purchase Upgrade Satchels from Vaskarn at a 6:1 ratio (90 lower crests for 15 higher crests) to convert them into Gilded Harbinger Crests up to your weekly and seasonal cap.
Relog to Unlock Achievement
Once all eligible slots meet the item level 619 requirement, the achievement will not pop automatically — you must relog your character for it to register. After doing so, Vaskarn will send you an in-game letter confirming the unlock.
Tips
You can buy Upgrade Satchels from Vaskarn in advance and stack up to 50 per item slot, then use them all at once — useful on reset day when you want to reach your Gilded Harbinger Crest cap without running additional content.
