Cheese the Freeze (25 player)
Defeat Hodir without any raid member being hit by Flash Freeze in 25-player mode.
Cheese the Freeze (25 player) requires defeating Hodir in 25-player mode without any raid member being hit by Flash Freeze.
Understand Flash Freeze timing
Flash Freeze is cast at regular intervals throughout the Hodir encounter, typically following Frozen Blows. If any raid member is hit by Flash Freeze, the achievement is lost for that run.
Watch for blue circles
When Hodir begins casting Flash Freeze, large blue circles appear on the ground — these are markers, not safe zones. About 3-5 seconds after the cast begins, balls of snow fall from the ceiling onto those blue circles, knocking anyone inside them back 30-50 meters and applying the Flash Freeze debuff.
Stand on Snowdrifts or Toasty Fires
To avoid Flash Freeze, all raid members must be standing on a Snowdrift or near a Toasty Fire when the ability resolves. Snowdrifts form where Icicles have previously fallen on the ground. Toasty Fires are created by the mage adds but are consumed each time Flash Freeze is cast, so position near fresh ones whenever possible.
Burst Hodir down immediately
With end-of-expansion gear, enter Ulduar and use Bloodlust along with all available damage cooldowns at the start of the pull. Having healers switch to DPS during the burst window can allow the group to kill Hodir before the first Flash Freeze is even cast.
