The Savior of Hallow's End
Complete one of the quests to save a village from the Headless Horseman.
The Savior of Hallow's End is a 10-point achievement earned by completing one of the fire-extinguishing quests to defend a village from the Headless Horseman during Hallow's End.
Arrive on the Quarter Hour
The Headless Horseman attacks villages on the quarter hour. Show up at :00, :15, :30, or :45 to trigger the event.
Pick Up the Daily Quest
When the Horseman yells, a blue ! daily quest becomes available from the Matron or similar questgiver at the village. Pick it up before grabbing a water bucket.
Choose an Easy Village
For Alliance, head to Azure Watch on Azuremyst Isle — the event is nearly solo-able because only one or two buildings catch fire and the water tub is just a few yards from the flames. For Horde, Falconwing Square is the easiest option, with only two buildings on fire and the water tub extremely close to the flames, making it easily two-manned.
Extinguish All Fires
Grab water buckets and throw them on every fire. At Azure Watch, stand between the house and the tub and use the action button repeatedly — the fire on one building can go out in seconds. You do not need to personally hit any set number of fires; when all fires in the village are out, everyone who helped receives quest credit.
Turn In the Quest
Once all fires are extinguished, turn in the daily quest to receive the achievement. If you previously turned in the quest at a different village, dismiss it and accept it fresh at your chosen village before starting the event.
Tips
At Azure Watch, create a macro with /click ExtraActionButton1 to spam water buckets rapidly — this can extinguish the building fire in roughly 15 seconds solo.
If you turned in the quest at one village (such as Goldshire) and did not get the achievement, dismiss the quest and re-accept it at Azure Watch before triggering the event.
