1000 Stone Keeper's Shards
Loot 1000 Stone Keeper's Shards.
The '1000 Stone Keeper's Shards' achievement requires you to loot a total of 1000 Stone Keeper's Shards, earned by killing bosses in level 80 instances while your faction controls Wintergrasp and by completing Wintergrasp daily quests.
Control Wintergrasp First
Your faction must control Wintergrasp for boss kills in level 80 instances to reward Stone Keeper's Shards — bosses drop 3 shards on Normal and 4 shards on Heroic difficulty, with a chance at a 5th shard as a bonus loot drop.
Farm Level 80 Heroic Dungeons
Enter any level 80 Heroic dungeon and defeat all bosses while Wintergrasp is under your faction's control. At 4 shards per boss (with occasional 5th bonus drops), you need a minimum of 250 Heroic boss kills to reach 1000 shards through this method alone.
Complete Wintergrasp Daily Quests
The following Wintergrasp daily quests each award 3 shards: Bones and Arrows, Defend the Siege, Fueling the Demolishers, Healing with Roses (Alliance) / A Rare Herb (Horde), Jinxing the Walls (Alliance) / Warding the Warriors (Horde), Slay them all! (Alliance) / No Mercy for the Merciless (Horde), Stop the Siege, and Toppling the Towers (Alliance) / Southern Sabotage (Horde). Completing all available dailies each day supplements dungeon farming significantly.
Tips
This achievement becomes a Feat of Strength when Cataclysm launches, so it will no longer be earnable after that point.
Completing this achievement also awards the companion achievement 'The Stone Keeper'.
Running Normal level 80 instances requires 334 total boss kills to reach 1000 shards at 3 per boss, making Heroic mode the faster option at 250 kills minimum.
