Return 50 flags as a defender in Warsong Gulch.
Persistent Defender requires you to return 50 flags as a defender in Warsong Gulch, rewarding the Silverwing Sentinels Flag decor item upon completion.
Queue for Warsong Gulch
Queue for Warsong Gulch through the Player vs. Player interface. Low-level brackets tend to see more defending activity, making it easier to accumulate flag returns.
Move with your team first
Go with your group toward the enemy base at the start, then double back to your own base when the enemy grabs your flag — this positions you to intercept the flag carrier on their way in.
Return flags in your base
After the enemy drops or caps your flag, return to your base and click the flag to return it. Enemy carriers tend to arrive one at a time, so staying near your flag spawn gives you the best opportunity to rack up returns.
Use Children's Week timing
The Children's Week holiday period draws many players into Warsong Gulch, increasing match volume and giving you more opportunities to return flags across multiple games in a shorter time.
Tips
Progress toward this achievement is shared across characters, but flag return counts do not carry over between characters — only the achievement completion itself is account-wide, so focus on one character to reach 50 returns.
A Rogue or other high-mobility class with strong 1v1 capability is well-suited for solo defending, as you will frequently need to duel incoming flag carriers alone.
