Fish in The Underbelly

Head to The Underbelly in Dalaran and fish at the Cantrips & Crows location. Cast repeatedly until the Giant Sewer Rat appears in your loot window — when it does, loot it immediately without moving away.

Consider the BMAH Alternative

Purchasing the Giant Sewer Rat from the Black Market Auction House will grant the achievement when you loot the item from your mailbox, before learning it — however, buying it as a battle pet from the regular Auction House will NOT grant the achievement.

Tips

  • The drop rate is approximately 0.3%, meaning 1,000 casts gives roughly a 95% chance of obtaining the rat, while 2,000 casts reaches 99.7%.

  • The Satchel of Exotic Mysteries can also contain the Giant Sewer Rat and will grant the achievement upon looting it.
