Understand the Spawn System
Each book has its own spawn location in Dalaran, but either the achievement book or a non-achievement 'fake' book can appear at that spot. Reading either version causes it to despawn, and each book respawns on its own timer of roughly 3 to 4 hours regardless of what other books are doing.
Find Introduction in Teleportation Room
Head to the Teleportation Crystal room and enter from the east door; turn right to face north and look at the floor in the corner to the right of the bookshelf at 56, 45.
Find Divination in Violet Citadel
Go to the Violet Citadel and head to the second floor near the Caverns of Time portal; the book spawns on the floor between the two bookshelves on the left side of the portal at 26, 51.
Find Conjuration in Violet Citadel
On the first floor of the Violet Citadel, find the bookshelf to the right of Rhonin at 30, 46.
Find Necromancy in Legerdemain Lounge
Climb to the second floor of the Legerdemain Lounge and look for the room with an empty bookshelf on the left; the book appears at mid-level of that shelf at 46.69, 39.05.
Find Transmutation in Legerdemain Lounge
On the first floor of the Legerdemain Lounge, check the empty bookshelf near the stove at 46.75, 40.14.
Find Enchantment at Threads of Fate
Go to The Threads of Fate and head to the small crate on the second floor balcony at 43.56, 46.71.
Find Abjuration at Dalaran Visitor Center
Inside the Dalaran Visitor Center, look on the floor near a small table and chair on the first floor at 52.38, 54.76.
Find Illusion in the Courtyard
Locate the book resting on a crate in the courtyard area at 64.42, 52.37.
Claim Your Mail Reward
After reading all eight volumes, check your in-game mailbox to receive The Schools of Arcane Magic - Mastery, which is a toy that teleports you and also allows you to obtain the 
Kirin Tor Familiar, a blue-purple non-combat pet.
Tips
Coordinate with other players by splitting up the eight spawn locations so each person camps one spot, then share spawn times as books appear to track the 3 to 4 hour respawn windows.
