Meaner Pastures
Defeat Gnarlroot after igniting 8 Harmless Blossoms in Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope on Normal difficulty or higher.
Meaner Pastures requires you to ignite all 8 Harmless Blossoms scattered around the outer edge of Gnarlroot's arena in Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope before defeating the boss on Normal difficulty or higher.
Enter on Normal Difficulty
Enter Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope on Normal difficulty or higher and engage Gnarlroot. This achievement can be completed solo at max level.
Locate the 8 Blossoms
Before or during the fight, look around the outer edge of Gnarlroot's arena to spot 8 small blue flowers — these are the Harmless Blossoms that must all be ignited.
Acquire Ember-Charred Debuff
When Gnarlroot transitions into the intermission phase, all players receive the Ember-Charred debuff via Splintering Charcoal — this is the smaller circle debuff, not the large one from earlier in the fight.
Run Over Each Blossom
While carrying the Ember-Charred debuff, run along the edge of the arena and stand on each of the 8 Harmless Blossoms one by one; each blossom will visibly erupt in shadowflame when successfully ignited, confirming it has been burned.
Finish the Fight Normally
After igniting all 8 Harmless Blossoms, continue the fight as usual — use the Ember-Charred debuff to burn the roots and exit the intermission phase, then defeat Gnarlroot to earn the achievement.
Tips
On Normal difficulty you can pre-position yourself on a blossom before the intermission phase begins, making it easier to ignite them quickly.
Burned blossoms visibly change appearance, so you can track which ones have already been ignited as you run the outer edge.
