Haven't We Done This Before?
Defeat Smolderon after dousing all 6 Runes of the Firelord in Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope on Normal difficulty or higher.
Haven't We Done This Before? is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating Smolderon after dousing all 6 Runes of the Firelord in Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope on Normal difficulty or higher.
Open Bridge to Smolderon
Complete the encounter progression up to Smolderon, including opening the bridge and allowing all associated RP to finish before proceeding.
Collect Dreaming Quintessence Buff
Send at least 6 players back to the start of the instance where a shallow pool of water with a flower in the middle sits right in front of the instance portal. Walking into the pool grants the Dreaming Quintessence buff, which lasts 10 minutes — if the raid wipes or takes too long, players must return to collect it again. It is recommended that more than 6 players grab the buff in case someone dies during the fight.
Reach the Boss Platform
Players who collected Dreaming Quintessence should make their way to or get summoned to Smolderon's boss room, where 6 runes are visible on the floor of the platform.
Douse Each Rune
Players with the Dreaming Quintessence buff take turns standing on a rune and activating their extra action button to begin dousing it — the channel takes 8 seconds and cannot be interrupted by movement, so the player must be in a safe position before starting. Avoid standing fire on the runes as it makes casting the ability harder. Each completed douse deals approximately 200, 000 damage to the entire raid via Overloaded Rune, so douse one rune at a time unless the raid's healers can handle two in quick succession.
Avoid Dousing During Dance Phase
During Smolderon's dance phase, some players take 100% increased damage, so triggering an Overloaded Rune douse at that time will likely kill those players — wait until the phase ends before dousing the next rune.
Defeat Smolderon
Once all 6 runes have been doused, defeat Smolderon to complete Haven't We Done This Before? and earn the achievement.
Tips
The Dreaming Quintessence buff only lasts 10 minutes, so if the raid wipes players must run back to the entrance pool and collect the buff again before re-engaging Smolderon.
Having more than 6 players collect the buff acts as a backup in case a buff-holder dies before dousing their assigned rune.
