Defeat Larodar, Keeper of the Flame with Ivy extinguished and alive in Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope on Normal difficulty or higher.

Don't Let the Doe Hit You On The Way Out requires you to defeat Larodar, Keeper of the Flame while keeping the doe Ivy alive and fully extinguished throughout the encounter in Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope on Normal difficulty or higher, rewarding the Ivy pet upon completion.

1

Find and Heal Ivy

Upon entering the Larodar boss room, look to the right side near the ramp leading from the Volcoross door — Ivy is located there. Heal her to full health to prepare her for herding.

2

Extinguish Ivy's Stacks

Ivy begins the encounter with 70 stacks of Singed, which must be removed using the Seed of Life — the same mechanic normally used to cleanse the floor. All 70 stacks must be fully removed before Larodar reaches 40% health, so keep him above that threshold until Ivy is fully extinguished.

3

Herd Ivy to the Platform

Walk behind Ivy to nudge her forward — she moves when a player gets close, similar to herding mechanics found in various World Quests. Assign exactly one player to herd her to the boss platform before pulling Larodar, and have no other players approach her during the fight to avoid accidentally redirecting her movement.

4

Protect Ivy During the Fight

Position Ivy near the center of the platform away from fire, and keep her healed throughout the fight since she takes damage from boss mechanics. During the Raging Inferno cast, both Ivy and the assigned herder must be inside the green circle that forms near the healed brambles — if any other player approaches Ivy during this phase, she will be nudged out of the circle and die. Note that Ivy cannot be Life Gripped or rescued by any external ability, so physical herding is the only option.

5

Defeat Larodar

With all of Ivy's Singed stacks removed and Ivy still alive, defeat Larodar to complete the achievement and receive the Ivy pet.

Tips

  • Use /focus on Ivy at the start of the encounter so you can monitor her health bar without losing sight of the boss.

  • This achievement is soloable with a well-geared healer class — a second player to off-tank Larodar makes managing Ivy significantly easier if your gear level is low.
