Find a variety of items while completing Time Rifts.

Temporal Acquisitions Specialist requires you to find 14 total quest starter items across Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the hourly Time Rifts event at Tyrhold Reservoir, rewarding the Boffins toy upon completion.

1

Identify Your Active Rift

Each Time Rift features two types of invader mobs. Hover over the horn icon on your map 5 minutes before the rift starts at 51.42, 60.59 to see which mob types are active — the first mob type listed always determines the rift (e.g., Murloc Invaders first means it is the Azmerloth rift). The rotation cycles through: Azq'roth (Old God), Warlands (Alliance/Horde), A.Z.E.R.O.T.H. (Robot), Azmerloth (Murloc), Ulderoth (Titan), Azmourne (Scourge), and Azewrath (Demon).

2

Collect Phase 1 Items

There are 8 quest starter items spread across Phase 1, with 2 items available per Azeroth type (2 Azeroth types appear per rift). These items either appear on the ground or are given by an NPC that runs toward you — both will show as a quest exclamation mark on your minimap. You do not need to personally kill any mob; items and NPCs appear regardless of who lands the kill.

3

Collect Phase 2 Items

There are 6 Phase 2 quest starter items (2 per Azeroth type), which appear after the rift boss is defeated. Watch your minimap for quest exclamation marks before leaving the boss room, as some items are on the ground and will be missed if you exit early. You do not need to loot any corpse — items with quest markers simply appear on the ground nearby.

4

Turn In to Soridormi

Turn all collected quest starter items in to Soridormi at 51.42, 60.59. After turning them in, the items can be found displayed on the tables behind her near Wan'she Skystrider, where clicking each one reveals lore about the item and the alternate timeline it came from.

Tips

  • The Amber Blade from the Azq'roth rift does not drop from any mob corpse — it spawns as a ground item with a quest marker, so look for the exclamation mark on the ground rather than looting enemies.

  • Since Phase 1 contains mobs from two different Azeroth types per rift, check the horn icon tooltip before the rift begins to confirm which two types will be present so you can track which of your missing items may be obtainable that run.
