Complete all of the following special encounters in Zaralek Cavern while under the effect of a Clacking Claw.

Cavern Clawbbering requires defeating all special rare encounters in Zaralek Cavern while transformed by a Clacking Claw, rewarding the Vibrant Clacking Claw toy upon completion.

1

Obtain a Clacking Claw

Farm Klakatak at 54, 41.5 in Zaralek Cavern for a Clacking Claw — one kill can drop 0 to 2 of them. The item is not Bind on Pickup, so you can also purchase extra copies from the Auction House.

2

Understand the Clacking Claw rules

Using a Clacking Claw consumes the item and grants a 10-minute buff with a 1-hour cooldown. The buff persists through death, mounting, and logging out, but the timer continues ticking even while logged off. You must have the buff active when a rare dies to receive credit — tagging a rare with the buff and then letting it expire before the kill does not count.

3

Kill rares across characters

This is an account-wide achievement, so different characters can each contribute credit for different rares. Use a Clacking Claw on one character to kill any available rares during the 10-minute window, then switch to another character and repeat with a fresh Clacking Claw to cover additional rares efficiently.

4

Note the misspelled rare names

The achievement contains several name errors that have since been corrected by Blizzard: 'Brulsef the Stronk' was 'Brullo the Strong', 'Kairoktra' was 'Karokta', 'Magmanesha' was 'Magtembo', and 'Jrumm' refers to the rare actually named Din — this last one is the most misleading as the names share no similarity.

Tips

  • You can loot 0–2 Clacking Claws per Klakatak kill, and since the item is tradeable, stocking extras from the Auction House lets you cover more rares per session without waiting on the 1-hour cooldown.

  • You can receive credit for a rare on your second kill of the day even without a zone announcement, so revisiting rare locations you have already tagged once is a valid strategy when your Clacking Claw is active.
