Sous Chef requires you to learn 100 cooking recipes, and can be completed before Wrath of the Lich King by collecting recipes from vendors, world drops, and faction sources.
Visit Kendor Kabonka First
Head to Stormwind and purchase recipes from Kendor Kabonka, who sells 13 low-level cooking recipes and is an efficient early source of progress toward 100.
Note Horde Recipe Limitations
Horde players can reach a maximum of 99 recipes using only Horde-accessible sources, including the recipe from the AQ40 event — the final recipe may need to be purchased from the Auction House, as some remaining options are Alliance-only.
Check Your True Recipe Count
The achievement tracker and third-party recipe tracking tools may show different totals — the achievement counter tracks only recipes that qualify toward the 100 goal, while other tools may count a broader total that includes non-qualifying recipes.
Tips
Recipes purchasable from other players on the Auction House can help fill the gap if vendor and drop sources are exhausted, particularly for Horde players needing Alliance-only recipes.
