Share the Recipe Rat's greatest recipe with hungry rats across Azeroth.
The Gift of Cheese requires you to share the Recipe Rat's greatest recipe with hungry rats across Azeroth, rewarding you with the pet 
Roland upon completion.
Buy Fine Aged Cheddar
Purchase at least 20x 
Fine Aged Cheddar before doing anything else — the Recipe Rat will only remain in your bags while you have some on you, and you will need more later for cooking.
Get the Recipe Rat
Head to Obsidian Rest in Zaralek Cavern on the Dragon Isles. At 52.47, 26.8, find the supply crate just in front of the cooking supplies vendor and click the interactable cheese inside to receive the Recipe Rat.
Collect Ripped Recipe Scraps
Use the Recipe Rat every 5 minutes to receive 
Ripped Recipe Scrap — repeat this until you have collected 30 scraps, then combine them to create the 
Ratcipe: Charitable Cheddar.
Cook Charitable Cheddar
Learn the Ratcipe: Charitable Cheddar (cooking skill 50 is required to learn it), then cook 50x 
Charitable Cheddar — note that this item is soulbound.
Feed Rats in Shattrath
Travel to Shattrath City at 49, 19 where 10 rats are clustered close together — enable War Mode, feed all 10 rats your Charitable Cheddar, then disable War Mode and feed the rats in that phase as well, then return to Stormwind or Orgrimmar to re-enable War Mode and repeat; the rats have roughly a 5–10 minute respawn timer, making this the fastest method and taking about 15 minutes total. Use the macro: /tar Rat — /use Charitable Cheddar — /stopmacro to speed up feeding.
Feed Rats in Drustvar
If you still need more rat feeds after Shattrath, head to Falconhurst in Drustvar at 26, 66 where there is a very high concentration of Rat — note that Stormwind Rat and Deeprun Rat will not accept your cheese and do not count toward the 50 needed.
Claim Achievement and Roland
After feeding 50 rats with Charitable Cheddar, the achievement completes automatically and you receive the pet Roland.
Tips
If your Recipe Rat is not interactable at the crate, check whether you still have unfinished Zskera Vault Recipe Rat negotiations involving
