Defeat Umbrelskul after smashing Shimmering Geodes with Dragon Strike and destroying 9 Geode Chunks in The Azure Vault on Mythic difficulty.

The Cracked Crystal is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating Umbrelskul in The Azure Vault on Mythic difficulty after using Dragon Strike to smash all three Shimmering Geodes around the room and killing the 9 Geode Chunks that spawn from them.

Set Mythic Difficulty

Enter The Azure Vault on Mythic difficulty before engaging Umbrelskul.

Identify the Three Geodes

Three bright purple Shimmering Geodes are positioned around the edge of the Umbrelskul fight area — locate all three before or during the pull.

Position Boss on Each Geode

The tank must drag Umbrelskul in front of each Shimmering Geode so that Dragon Strike hits it, shattering the geode and spawning 3 Geode Chunks per geode (9 total across all three).

Kill Geode Chunks Immediately

DPS must tag and kill each of the 3 Geode Chunks as soon as they spawn — if the boss kills them before your group tags them, those kills do not count toward the 9 required, and the achievement will not complete. Failing to kill them also applies a damaging debuff.

Track Achievement Progress

Monitor the achievement tracker, which shifts from red to white as each criterion is met, so the group knows all 9 Geode Chunks have been credited before killing Umbrelskul.

Defeat Umbrelskul Normally

Once all 9 Geode Chunks are confirmed killed, burn Umbrelskul down with cooldowns to complete the achievement.

Tips

  • It is recommended to complete all three Shimmering Geode phases before using Bloodlust or major damage cooldowns, then burst the boss down after all 9 chunks are dead.
