Defeat the Overgrown Ancient while all party members have a Well-Fed Duckling on their head in Algeth'ar Academy on Mythic difficulty.

Duck, Duck, Spruce! is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating the Overgrown Ancient in Algeth'ar Academy on Mythic difficulty while every party member has a Well-Fed Duckling sitting on their head.

1

Set Mythic Difficulty

Enter Algeth'ar Academy on Mythic difficulty before attempting this achievement.

2

Remove Stat Buffs

Drop any stat buff picked up at the dungeon entrance — if any party member still has one active, the Well-Fed Ducklings will not be interactable.

3

Clear Adds in Arena

Kill all three adds in the Overgrown Ancient's arena before touching the ducklings, as they must be dead for the ducklings to become interactable.

4

Grab a Well-Fed Duckling

Head to the small pool in the northeast corner of the boss arena and click a Well-Fed Duckling — it will perch on your head and apply a 65% movement speed slow that lasts 10 minutes. Every party member must do this before engaging the boss.

5

Defeat Overgrown Ancient

Engage and defeat the Overgrown Ancient while all party members still have their Well-Fed Duckling on their head; avoid standing in the boss's green circle as it heals him and prolongs the fight.

Tips

  • If the ducklings are not interactable after clearing the adds, drag the Overgrown Ancient out of the room to reset him, then return to check the pool.

  • For a solo attempt, prioritize pulling the boss away from his green healing circle to avoid the fight dragging out. A 412 item level Prot Paladin can complete this solo.

  • See the video guides linked for a visual walkthrough of the duckling pickup location and boss positioning.
