Unlock the Ancient Waygate travel network in the Dragon Isles.
An Ancient Awakening is a 5-point achievement earned by completing a short questchain that unlocks the Ancient Waygate travel network in the Dragon Isles.
Reach Renown Level 7
Reach Renown level 7 with the Dragonscale Expedition. Once you hit level 7, you will receive the 
Magically Bound Message, which starts the questchain.
Start Dormant Discovery
Use the Magically Bound Message to begin the quest Dormant Discovery, then speak with Thaelin Darkanvil to continue the chain.
Inspect the Etched Monolith
For This Old Stone, locate and inspect the Etched Ancient Monolith at 47.22, 90.23 inside the tower.
Speak With Warpcaster Delandra
For Nightborne Know-How, travel to speak with Warpcaster Delandra at 47.33, 90.26.
Complete Curiosity is Key
Speak with the quest giver at 45.93, 40.62 to complete Curiosity is Key.
Complete Power Procurement
Travel to 39.72, 60.84 and defeat mobs until you collect 100% of the required energy.
Finish A Gateway to Somewhere
Complete A Gateway to Somewhere to lead into the final quest of the chain.
Complete An Ancient Awakening
Complete the final quest An Ancient Awakening to earn the achievement and unlock the Ancient Waygate travel network, including the waygate at the Cobalt Assembly at 48.34, 30.14 in The Azure Span.
Tips
This questchain is only required on your main character — once completed, the Ancient Waygate travel network is already unlocked for your alts.
If Thaelin Darkanvil has no quests available despite being at the correct renown level, fly near Pinewood Post in Ohn'ahran Plains. A monkey NPC may appear and offer the quest Continued Waygate Exploration, which puts you back on the correct questchain.
