Azure Span: Gold
Obtain gold in all normal races in the Azure Span.
Azure Span: Gold requires you to complete all six normal dragon racing courses in the Azure Span with a gold-tier finishing time.
Unlock Azure Span Races
Reach Renown level 7 with the relevant faction, then complete the Aerial Challenges quest to unlock dragon racing. After that, pick up The Azure Span Tour quest to access all six normal races in the zone.
Collect Dragon Glyphs First
Before attempting gold times, collect all 48 Dragon Glyphs across all zones — Waking Shores, Ohn'ahran Plains, Azure Span, and Thaldraszus — to fully upgrade your dragon abilities. The most important upgrade to unlock is At Home Aloft, which enables the Thrill of the Skies mechanic that regenerates vigor while flying at high speed.
Complete Vakthros Ascent
Start the race at 71.29, 24.66 in the Azure Span. Use Surge Forward to trigger Thrill of the Skies before using Skyward Ascent or other abilities, and fly close to the edges of the golden checkpoint rings rather than through the center to save time.
Complete Azure Span Sprint
Head to the race start at 47.91, 40.78 in the Azure Span. Keep Thrill of the Skies active throughout the course by maintaining high speed before using dragonriding abilities.
Complete Central Circuit
Find the race start at 48.49, 35.78 in the Azure Span. Clip the edges of checkpoint rings instead of flying through their centers to maintain momentum and reduce your total time.
Complete Archive Ambit
Head to the race start at 42.26, 56.74 in the Azure Span. Prioritize building speed with Surge Forward before committing to Skyward Ascent to get the most out of each ability use.
Complete Iskaara Flyover
Find the race start at 16.56, 49.37 in the Azure Span. Keep your dragon glowing with Thrill of the Skies as much as possible throughout this course to sustain vigor regeneration.
Complete Azure Span Slalom
Head to the final race start at 20.95, 22.62 in the Azure Span. As with all courses, clip checkpoint ring edges and use Surge Forward to activate Thrill of the Skies before other abilities to finish within the gold time threshold.
Tips
Fully upgrading the dragon talent tree is not strictly required for normal race gold times, but unlocking at least one extra Vigor on the top row of the talent tree makes the races noticeably easier.
Flying close to the edges of golden checkpoint rings instead of through their centers saves time on every course and adds up significantly across all six races.
