This achievement was re-added in patch 11.0.5 in October 2024. It is obtainable and not locked behind unobtainable content, despite older comments suggesting otherwise.
Buy Tradeable Pets
The fastest way to close the gap toward 1800 pets is purchasing tradeable pets from the Auction House, which can account for a significant portion of the remaining pets needed.
Account for All Sources
Reaching 1800 unique pets will require collecting from all available source categories, including in-game drops, crafting, vendors, and purchasable pets. Players with around 1743 pets may find only roughly 60 or fewer pets still accessible without the in-game shop, trading card game, or promotional sources.
