Complete 10 of the following special encounters in Zereth Mortis.

Adventures in Zereth Mortis requires you to complete 10 special encounters (rare mob kills) spread across Zereth Mortis in Patch 9.2.

1

Kill Gluttonous Overgrowth

Find Gluttonous Overgrowth at 53.08, 93.06 in Zereth Mortis. You must pull out 5 Bulging Roots during the encounter.

2

Kill Feasting

Find Feasting at 61.82, 60.61 in Zereth Mortis. This rare can drop the Visor of Visceral Cravings helmet.

3

Kill Sand Matriarch Ileus

Find Sand Matriarch Ileus at 53.39, 47.08 in Zereth Mortis. Be aware that this enemy goes underground at 50% health.

4

Kill Akkaris

Find Akkaris at 64.67, 33.82 in Zereth Mortis. This giant worm sits on top of the Sandworn Chest.

5

Kill Tahkwitz

Find Tahkwitz at 49.99, 40.02 in Zereth Mortis. Reaching this rare requires either completing main story Chapter 6 or having a flying mount.

6

Kill Orixal

Find Orixal at 54.71, 68.75 in Zereth Mortis. Note that Orixal shares a cooldown with the Overgrown Helicid rare, so only one of them will be available at a time.

7

Kill Vitiane

Find Vitiane at 47.06, 46.97 in Zereth Mortis. This rare hits hard and channels a spell called Dreadful Pulse, so be ready for heavy damage.

8

Tag Rares Before Others

If you do not yet have flying in Zereth Mortis, prioritize rares that spawn near your current location rather than racing across the map, as players with flying mounts will reach distant rares and kill them before you arrive. When you are close to an active rare fight, lower your graphics settings to reduce lag and freeze issues, then tag the mob as quickly as possible and let other players finish it.

Tips

  • If you lack flying, focus only on rares that spawn near you — attempting to cross the map on a ground mount means others with flying will kill the rare before you arrive.

  • Lowering your graphics settings while near an active rare fight can prevent your game from freezing due to the large number of players in the area.
