Breaking the Stratus Fear is a 5-point achievement earned by completing the Paragon's Challenge during the Bastion World Quest 'Flight School: Up and Away!'
Start Paragon's Challenge
Before completing the World Quest 'Flight School: Up and Away!' for the first time, return to Instructor Severin at 41.17, 22.92 in Bastion. Speaking to him again after your first completion unlocks a dialog option to begin the Paragon's Challenge — this option is not available until you have done the World Quest at least once.
Enter the Windstream
Once you activate the Paragon's Challenge, a windstream appears next to Instructor Severin at 41.17, 22.92. Leap into it to receive Archon's Grace and an extra action button called Foresight, which halts you mid-air for up to 2 minutes. After using Foresight, the button changes to Prudence, allowing you to jump forward again. These abilities are intended for dodging Charged Javelin during the challenge.
Use Slow Fall Abilities
To make the flight path easier, pick up golden feathers at the top of the anima gateway on the north backside of the tower near 39.44, 18.71, which grant a 2-minute slow fall effect. Alternatively, Priests can cast Levitate and Mages can use Slow Fall on themselves before launching. Follow the flower path through the waypoints at 40.72, 22.8 then 40.56, 22.34 then 40.21, 22.46 then 39.8, 22.51 then 39.62, 21.91 then 39.45, 21.41 then 39.32, 20.91 then 39.04, 20.65 then 38.98, 20.08 then 38.59, 19.89 then 38.25, 19.85 then 37.93, 19.42 then 37.68, 19.11 then 37.79, 18.65 then 38.13, 18.44 then 38.45, 18.4 then 38.67, 18.02 then 39.0, 18.13 toward the finish at 39.44, 18.71.
Tips
If flowers are not bouncing you during the challenge, it may be because the World Quest has already been completed and is no longer active — wait for the next time the World Quest is live before attempting the Paragon's Challenge.
To help the server register your landing on bounce flowers, slightly rotate your character by holding right-click as you approach each flower — this sends more frequent location updates to the server, which is especially helpful on higher latency connections.
