Pursuing Loyalty
Overcome the first eight Trials of Loyalty.
Pursuing Loyalty is a 10-point achievement earned by completing the first eight Trials of Loyalty in the Path of Ascension, a Shadowlands Sanctum feature requiring at least Rank 2 of the Path of Ascension upgrade.
Upgrade Path of Ascension
Purchase Path of Ascension Rank 2 using your Sanctum's anima and souls. Rank 3 is sufficient for all Loyalty difficulty content and Rank 5 is unnecessary for this achievement.
Complete the Intro Questline
Start the intro questline at the Path of Ascension. When prompted to challenge Kalisthene for the first time, jump off the arena to intentionally lose — this is required to progress the quest, not a bug.
Gather Soul Mirror Shards
Collect Soul Mirror Shards in batches of 5 as needed. You will need 45 total across all challengers. Shards can be farmed at Purity's Pinnacle at 63, 71. The innkeeper near Poalone sells a box containing reagents so you only need to farm shards.
Defeat First Three on Courage
Beat the first three challengers on Courage difficulty. This unlocks the quests needed to access the next three opponents. Pelagos with Herald's Footpads or Phial of Serenity can one-shot challengers on Loyalty difficulty, so Courage clears are straightforward.
Complete Dactylis's Quests
Speak with Dactylis, located directly across from Artemede, and complete his quests to unlock the next three opponents. If he gives capture quests, use his dialogue box to access the crafting menu and create the required items.
Defeat Next Three on Courage
Defeat the next three challengers on Courage difficulty to unlock the first four challengers on Loyalty difficulty. All six initial challengers must be defeated at each difficulty tier to unlock the next.
Complete Eight Loyalty Trials
Defeat the following eight challengers on Loyalty difficulty in order: Kalisthene, Echthra, Alderyn and Myn'ir, Nuuminuuru, Craven Corinth, Splinterback, Nightmare Thran'tiok, and Mad Mortimer. The achievement unlocks after the eighth Loyalty victory.
Tips
Defeating challengers on Courage difficulty may appear to give no credit, but progress is tracking correctly — all six initial opponents must be cleared at each difficulty to advance.
Some opponents drop blueprints that unlock additional heroes and quests, so defeating them on Courage before moving to Loyalty is necessary for full progression.
