Hunger for Knowledge
Defeat Tred'ova after defeating an Enlightened Spinemaw Gorger in the Mists of Tirna Scithe on Mythic difficulty.
Hunger for Knowledge requires you to defeat Tred'ova in Mists of Tirna Scithe on Mythic difficulty after killing a Spinemaw Gorger that has consumed the Cocoon of Lakali and gained the Enlightened buff.
Set Mythic Difficulty
Enter Mists of Tirna Scithe on Mythic difficulty. The achievement can be tracked in your achievement log and will display in red until all conditions are met, turning white when satisfied.
Separate a Spinemaw Gorger
From the trash packs outside the Tred'ova boss room, pull a single Spinemaw Gorger away from its group by crowd-controlling the rest of its pack and killing them, leaving the Gorger alive.
Bring Gorger to Boss Room
Lead the live Spinemaw Gorger into the Tred'ova boss room. Do not crowd-control it once inside, as any CC will prevent it from completing its eating cast and it will not attempt to cast again.
Pull Tred'ova to Trigger Consumption
Pull Tred'ova to begin the encounter. The Spinemaw Gorger will only cast Consumption once the boss is engaged — before the pull it will only use Acid Globule. Once the boss is pulled, the Gorger will move to the Cocoon of Lakali in the center of the room and begin casting Consumption.
Kill the Enlightened Gorger
After the Spinemaw Gorger finishes consuming the Cocoon of Lakali, it gains the Enlightened buff, which doubles its health and heals it to full — do not bother damaging it before this point. Kill the Enlightened Spinemaw Gorger to satisfy the achievement condition.
Defeat Tred'ova
Kill Tred'ova to complete the encounter and earn the Hunger for Knowledge achievement.
Tips
There are 9 total Spinemaw Gorgers available in the instance, so if one bugs out and does not attempt to eat the cocoon, reset the boss and bring a fresh Gorger from a different pack — the pack to the right of the boss room is a reliable source.
A Gorger that kept the Enlightened buff through a reset still counts if killed after pulling a new replacement, so you can reset freely without losing progress on a buffed Gorger.
