It's Not A Cult
Defeat N'Zoth the Corruptor in Ny'alotha, the Waking City after all players have accepted the Gift of N'Zoth on Normal difficulty or higher
It's Not A Cult requires all players to reach 0 Sanity and receive the Gift of N'Zoth buff before defeating N'Zoth the Corruptor in Ny'alotha, the Waking City on Normal difficulty or higher.
Equip Ashjra'kamas Before Entering
Equip your legendary cloak Ashjra'kamas, Shroud of Resolve before the pull. Without it equipped, you will be mind controlled when the encounter begins.
Enter and Fight Normally
Enter Ny'alotha, the Waking City and begin the N'Zoth encounter. Kill the first large add, clear tentacles, then enter N'Zoth's mind when his shield breaks, damage the boss during Shattered Ego, kill more tentacles, and return — avoiding full Sanity loss during this phase.
Avoid Harvest Thoughts Below 50 Sanity
Once all players are below 50 Sanity, no one should soak Harvest Thoughts, allowing everyone's Sanity to drain to 0 and granting each player the Gift of N'Zoth buff.
Burn N'Zoth After Gift Activates
Once all players have the Gift of N'Zoth, use Heroism or Time Warp and burn the boss — the fight ends at 3% health, and the damage buff from the Gift should be sufficient to finish him. Players who die after receiving the Gift still count toward the achievement, so a battle resurrection is only needed for players who died before going insane.
Tips
If your group's damage is high enough, you can let everyone go insane earlier in the fight rather than waiting until 20% — the achievement still counts as long as all players received the Gift of N'Zoth before the boss dies.
If players die to other mechanics before reaching 0 Sanity and do not have the Gift of N'Zoth, they will need a battle resurrection so they can go insane and receive the buff.
