Buzzer Beater
Defeat Dark Inquisitor Xanesh in Ny'alotha, the Waking City after safely eliminating a Void Orb with less than 3 seconds remaining on Voidwoken 3 times on Normal difficulty or higher.
Buzzer Beater requires you to defeat Dark Inquisitor Xanesh in Ny'alotha, the Waking City after safely eliminating a Void Orb with less than 3 seconds remaining on your Voidwoken debuff, accomplished 3 times on Normal difficulty or higher.
Enter on Normal Difficulty
Set Ny'alotha, the Waking City to Normal difficulty before entering. Do not use Heroic or higher, as additional mechanics like Summon Ritual Obelisk and Void-Touched complicate the fight unnecessarily.
Engage Dark Inquisitor Xanesh
Pull Dark Inquisitor Xanesh and begin the fight. If you are playing a pet class, keep the boss's aggro on your pet to give yourself freedom of movement. There is no need to reduce her health — the mechanic triggers at 100% health.
Step Into a Red Circle
During Void Ritual, three red circles with an eye icon appear near the boss. Step into one to gain the Voidwoken debuff, which lasts 40 seconds and places a dark squid icon above your head. This also spawns two portals: a larger one with dark blue sparks where the Void Orb spawns, and a smaller one with a red circle that is the target.
Stall the Void Orb Early
Steer the Void Orb by positioning yourself ahead of it and facing the direction you want it to travel — contact with you changes its direction. Ping-pong the orb with wide hits to burn down the timer safely. Recommended timings: first hit at 28–29 seconds remaining, knock it back at 21–22 seconds, redirect again at 16–17 seconds, then line up a long shot at 10–11 seconds remaining.
Launch Into the Small Portal Under 3 Seconds
With your Voidwoken debuff between 3 and 1 seconds remaining, direct the Void Orb into the smaller red-circle portal. A confetti explosion from the center of the portal confirms a successful timed elimination. If no confetti appears, the orb did not enter within the required window.
Repeat Two More Times
Return to the red circles during the next Void Ritual cast and repeat the process. You must successfully eliminate the Void Orb within the under-3-second window a total of 3 times before defeating Dark Inquisitor Xanesh to earn the achievement.
Tips
Using a class or gear with higher movement speed makes steering the Void Orb significantly easier.
If the achievement does not register after a successful run, completing the mechanic a fourth time has resolved the issue — the debuff expiring once during a valid attempt did not prevent credit in reported cases.
