Defeat Ra-den in Ny'alotha, the Waking City after destroying 2 obelisks with Unstable Void on Normal difficulty or higher.
How? Isn't it Obelisk? is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating Ra-den in Ny'alotha, the Waking City after destroying both obelisks using Unstable Void on Normal difficulty or higher.
Set Difficulty to Normal
Enter Ny'alotha, the Waking City on Normal difficulty or higher. This achievement does not work on Looking for Raid difficulty.
Locate Both Obelisks
When you enter Ra-den's room, identify the two obelisks — one in the far left corner and one in the far right corner of the room.
Tank Boss Near First Obelisk
Pull Ra-den and position him near the obelisk in one of the far corners so that the upcoming void mechanic can reach it.
Kill Vita, Then Bounce Void Orb
When Vita and a Void orb spawn, kill Vita first before it reaches Ra-den. Then soak the bouncing Void orb and direct it toward the obelisk — the orb travels in the direction the soaking player is facing, so face toward the obelisk when soaking. The orb must land on the ground beneath the obelisk to destroy it, and doing this on the 5th or final bounce minimizes DPS loss on Ra-den.
Repeat for Second Obelisk
After the first obelisk is destroyed, move Ra-den to the second obelisk in the opposite corner and repeat the same process — kill Vita first, then bounce the Void orb onto the obelisk.
Defeat Ra-den
Once both obelisks are destroyed, kill Ra-den to complete the achievement. Note that at 40% health Ra-den transitions phases and stops applying his max health reduction debuff, so you can safely push him down after the second obelisk is destroyed.
Tips
When soloing as certain melee specs, Ra-den's phase 1 debuff reduces max health by 20% per stack, which is lethal at 5 stacks — kite Ra-den away briefly when the debuff stacks high to allow it to drop before re-engaging.
Consider using personal defensive cooldowns when soaking the Void orb, as the impacts deal significant damage.
