Complete the Pet Battle Challenge in Stratholme
Pet Battle Challenge: Stratholme is a pet battle dungeon achievement earned by completing the challenge mode of the Stratholme pet dungeon, rewarding the Evil Wizard Hat pet upon completion.
Enter Stratholme Pet Dungeon
Access the Stratholme pet battle dungeon through the achievements panel or by finding the dungeon entrance directly. No prerequisite quest is required — the dungeon is available once you locate it.
Prepare Your Pet Team
Stock your roster with critters, rabbits or hares (useful in multiple fights), at least one snail for the Plagued Critters encounter, an Emerald Proto-Whelp for Belchling, a Bandicoon for the Crypt Fiend fight, and an S/S Zandalari Kneebiter paired with any whelpling that has Tail Sweep for Liz the Tormentor. All pets should be level 25 rare quality.
Battle Belchling
Use an Emerald Proto-Whelp as your primary pet against Belchling. Have a rabbit ready as a backup to finish off anything the Proto-Whelp does not kill.
Defeat Sludge Belcher
Bring three rabbits or hares to handle the Sludge Belcher fight.
Clear Plagued Critters
Use one or two snails to work through the Plagued Critters encounter.
Fight Liz the Tormentor
Use an S/S Zandalari Kneebiter with the Hunting Party, Black Claw, and Leap skill loadout alongside any whelpling that has Tail Sweep to defeat Liz the Tormentor.
Tackle Fras Siabi
The Fras Siabi encounter is heavily RNG-dependent and nearly any team can fail on a given attempt. Use an S/S or P/S breed Zandalari Kneebiter with the Hunting Party, Black Claw, and Leap skill setup, and be prepared to attempt multiple team compositions before succeeding.
Complete Challenge Mode
After clearing all 11 fights including Belchling, Sludge Belcher, Wandering Phantasm, Crypt Fiend, Liz the Tormentor, Plagued Critters, Risen Guard, Nefarious Terry, and Fras Siabi in challenge mode (no healing between fights), the achievement completes and awards the Evil Wizard Hat pet.
Tips
Because four of the 11 fights include random backline pets, team composition may need to be adjusted between attempts depending on what enemies appear.
During a normal (non-challenge) first run, healing between fights is allowed, which makes it a good opportunity to test different pet compositions before attempting challenge mode.
