Outside Influences is a 10-point achievement in Mechagon that requires completing 15 quests from the rotating daily visitors found in Rustbolt and its surrounding areas.
Start the Clues Abound Chain
Speak with Sir Finley Mrrgglton to pick up Clues Abound. This quest chain unlocks up to 7 quests toward your achievement progress, including A Historical Mess, A Growing Mystery, Time for Heroics, Strange Discovery, Deck'Em, and Pirates? I Hate Those Guys. Sir Finley offers 3 different hint types, so you will need to complete Clues Abound on 3 separate days to access all branching quests. Old Parchment leads to A Historical Mess, and Ancient Runestone leads to A Growing Mystery.
Get Strange Discovery During A Growing Mystery
While completing A Growing Mystery, kill the Toxic Lurkers in addition to the Mutated Lashlings. After a few kills, Toxic Lurkers can drop the Night Elf Ring, which grants the bonus quest Strange Discovery and counts as an additional achievement progress step. You can also receive the Old Pirate Hat from Congealed Oils during A Historical Mess, so kill those as well.
Complete Off-the-Books Brawlin' Daily
Each day, 2 of the rotating Rustbolt visitors are present. Off-the-Books Brawlin' is one possible visitor, found at 70.2, 30.5. Complete their quest to gain progress toward your 15-quest total.
Complete Abduction Reduction Daily
Abduction Reduction is another possible daily visitor, located at 70.9, 37.6 in Rustbolt. Complete their quest when they are present to add to your achievement count.
Complete Toys For Destruction / Armed for Action
Rocket-Chief Fuselage offers the Toys For Destruction quest, found at 68.8, 33.1. Building one of the weapons for Armed for Action is followed up by either Battle Tested or Playtime's Over, giving you up to 3 quests from this visitor when present.
Enter The Other Place with Chromie
Chromie offers The Other Place, found at 70.2, 30.9. Inside the time-displaced version of Mechagon you can find Christy Punchcog with Adapt, Improve, Overcome! at 71.8, 35.9, and Izira Gearsworn with The Final Act at 73, 33.9. Completing The Final Act by killing The Rusty Prince also unlocks the follow-up quest Be Kind, Rewind, giving additional progress.
Complete Tortollan Seekers Quests
When the Tortollan Seekers visitors Maokka or Scrollsage Nola are present, Maokka offers Unprofitable Ventures at 72.2, 37.1, and Scrollsage Nola offers A Direct Approach at 72.3, 37.3. Either Taking The Air Out or Waste Not has a chance to spawn as an additional sub-daily from this group. Note that only 2 of all possible visitors appear each day, so it may take many days before the Tortollan visitors appear and offer their specific sub-quests.
Tips
Because only 2 of the rotating visitors appear per day, and some visitors have sub-quests with an additional 50/50 chance to spawn, reaching 15 completed quests can take several weeks of daily play.
The Clues Abound chain alone can provide up to 7 of your 15 required quests, but requires 3 separate daily completions to unlock all branching quests from Sir Finley Mrrgglton.
