Secret Fish and Where to Find Them

This is part 2 of the secret fish achievement series — you must complete part 1 before you can begin this achievement. Do not attempt to fish for these; they are not obtained through fishing.

With the Secret Fish Goggles buff active, a small fish inside a bubble will spawn within 40 yards of you. You will hear a bubbling sound when it spawns, and 5–10 seconds later the fish becomes visible and clickable. The fish respawns every 25–30 seconds, can be clicked while mounted, and does not require you to be in water.

For best results, stand in a flat area with few surrounding objects such as trees or rocks, then spin your camera to spot the bubble. A highly efficient spot is the bridge to the Gong of Hope in the Jade Forest at 39.8, 40.27 — stand at the base of the steps looking down the bridge, as bubbles always spawn on the bridge with no obstructions or mob spawns. This location also always drops 2 fish per bubble, and your second fish will always be a BfA fish. One hour of farming here yielded 26 rare fish in community testing.

The Rotted Blood Cod can be farmed at 57.84, 62.35 in Nazmir.

The Drowned Goldfish can be found at 45.47, 50.44 or 47.24, 56.16 in Stormsong Valley. Note that the spot at 45.33, 50.83 in Stormsong Valley is listed for the Invisible Smelt but is considered a poor location because bubbles frequently disappear due to zone boundary issues.

The Tortollan Tank Dweller is located underwater at 19.06, 42.34 in Drustvar.

The Mechanized Mackerel can be found at 35.69, 78.52 in Mechagon.

The Queen's Delight has two known locations in Nazjatar: at 62.15, 50.56, or as an alternative spot high up on one of the reefs close to Mezzamere at 40.3, 52.6.

The Collectable Saltfin can be farmed alongside the Drowned Goldfish at 45.47, 50.44 in Stormsong Valley.

The Green Roughy may require the Painted Green buff to be active when farming near the Rotted Blood Cod at 57.84, 62.35 in Nazmir, as at least one player obtained it after the buff was applied during that farm.

Each click of a visible fish bubble awards a random fish, with most clicks yielding a common white-quality junk fish for the zone. Continue farming until all required rare fish for the achievement have been collected — fish do not need to be held in your inventory for the achievement to track; you may sell them after collection.
