Junkyard Tinkerer
Craft 1000 Junkyard Tinkering items in Mechagon, excluding crates.
Junkyard Tinkerer requires crafting 1000 Junkyard Tinkering items in Mechagon, and progress is earned by repeatedly crafting eligible recipes using Spare Parts and other materials gathered or purchased in the zone.
Unlock More Recycling Quest
Progress through Mechagon questing until the More Recycling quest in Junkwatt Depot becomes infinitely repeatable. This quest requires 30 Hardened Springs, 5 Machined Gear Assemblies, and 10 Tempered Plating to create a Bundle of Recyclable Parts, which is handed in to one of the bots and rewards a Recycling Requisition containing between 1 and 220 Spare Parts.
Buy Materials via Auction House
With the region-wide Auction House for commodities, the materials needed for Junkyard Tinkering crafts can be purchased directly, making it possible to complete this achievement without grinding if you have sufficient gold.
Choose Your Craft Efficiently
After patch 8.2.5, Canned Minnows were changed to cost 50 Spare Parts, so the recommended crafts are Scrap Grenades (50 Spare Parts each, useful with a 15-second non-combat cooldown) for Spare Parts spending, and
Emergency Powerpack for spending
Energy Cells. You may also want a stack or two of Canned Minnows and one craft each of Blue Spraybot, Green Spraybot, and Orange Spraybot if you still need drops from the Crazed Trogg.
Track Requisition Count to 1000
Averaging 100 Spare Parts per Recycling Requisition gives roughly 2 crafts of any 50-Spare-Parts recipe per box, meaning approximately 500 Recycling Requisitions are needed to go from 0 to 1000 crafts. S.P.A.R.E. Crates do not count toward this achievement, and neither do any crate-type items, so avoid crafting those for progress.
Tips
Any recipe costing 50 Spare Parts counts toward the 1000 craft total, so prioritize these over recipes with higher costs or lower availability.
You can also craft items from 5x
Empty Energy Cells, which do not require Spare Parts and provide additional craft credit.
