Walk the Dinosaur
Defeat the Conclave of the Chosen in the Battle of Dazar'alor without killing all the initial raptors summoned by Gonk's Wrath on Normal difficulty or higher.
Walk the Dinosaur is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating the Conclave of the Chosen in the Battle of Dazar'alor on Normal difficulty or higher while leaving at least one of the initial raptors summoned by Gonk's Wrath alive until the end of the fight.
Enter Battle of Dazar'alor
Enter the Battle of Dazar'alor raid on Normal difficulty or higher and reach the Conclave of the Chosen encounter.
Mark One Raptor
When Gonk's Wrath triggers and the initial raptors spawn, immediately raid-mark one specific raptor so every player knows never to target it for the remainder of the fight.
Kite the Marked Raptor
Assign a dedicated player to kite the marked raptor around one half of the room, keeping it away from the bosses on the other side to prevent accidental cleave damage from hitting it. Death Knights are particularly useful here because Death Grip can pull the raptor away from the raid when needed.
Handle Mark of Prey
A different player receives Mark of Prey and gets fixated by the Ravenous Stalker every 20 seconds, so the fixated player must lead the raptor away from the raid to avoid spreading AoE damage to it or other players.
Kill the Bosses Only
Focus all damage on the Conclave of the Chosen bosses using single-target abilities, avoiding any cleave or AoE that could hit the marked raptor. Wait until the raptors have spawned before committing burst damage to the bosses, and pause damage during abilities like Paku's stacking phase if positioning risks hitting the marked raptor.
Confirm Achievement on Kill
Defeat the Conclave of the Chosen with the marked raptor still alive to earn the achievement.
Tips
At Level 80 this fight can be soloed by pet classes — avoid hitting any raptors, use single-target on the bosses, and if a silence goes out your pets will continue attacking the bosses for you.
Place a world marker on the raptor's designated kite path to help all players visually track where the live raptor is at all times.
