Obtain 950 skill points in archaeology.

Zandalari Archaeologist requires you to reach 950 skill points in Archaeology, earned by surveying dig sites across Zandalar and Kul Tiras during the Battle for Azeroth expansion.

1

Complete the quest Fun for the Little Ones

Pick up and complete the quest Fun for the Little Ones, which awards +5 Archaeology skill points and gives you a head start toward 950.

2

Farm dig sites in Vol'dun first

Prioritize Vol'dun on Zandalar as your primary dig site zone — its flat, open landscape makes traveling between survey points faster than other zones. Rotating into zones you have not surveyed before may also yield skill-up progress more frequently.

3

Avoid elite-heavy Nazmir digsites

Some Nazmir dig sites are located near or on top of strong elite enemies, so be aware of your surroundings when surveying there to avoid unnecessary interruptions.

4

Skill up in Stormsong Valley on Kul Tiras

If you are working on Kul Tiras dig sites, Stormsong Valley is the easiest zone for Archaeology, and turning off War Mode reduces additional threats while surveying.

5

Push through the final 20-30 skill points

From around skill 910 to 950, expect to gain roughly 1 skill point every 1 to 4 completed dig sites, with each individual skill point in the final stretch requiring around 10 to 15 individual fragment findings.

Tips

  • Rotating between zones you have not previously surveyed appears to yield skill-up progress more often, so avoid grinding the same zone repeatedly when you stop seeing gains.
