Snake Eater
Force the Solid Egg to hatch during the Merektha encounter, defeat the Solid Snake, and become the Snake Eater in the Temple of Sethraliss on Mythic difficulty.
Snake Eater is a 10-point Mythic difficulty achievement earned in the Temple of Sethraliss by forcing the Solid Egg to hatch during the Merektha encounter, then defeating the Solid Snake.
Locate the Solid Egg
The Solid Egg sits atop the bones extending over the room on the right-hand side of the Merektha encounter area. It is invisible but can be revealed by dropping a Flare in its location.
Grip or position the egg
A Death Knight can grip the Solid Egg down from its perch before the fight begins, which prevents it from evading or despawning when the Solid Snake hatches. This is the recommended method due to a current bug where the snake evade-bugs after hatching.
Hit the egg with Noxious Breath
During Phase 1, position Merektha so her Noxious Breath hits the Solid Egg. The egg changes color to green once it has been successfully hit. Move clear of the breath once the egg turns green.
Hatch the egg in Phase 2
In Phase 2 and Phase 3, Merektha casts Blinding Sand. Position a target — such as a Hunter pet left under the bone arch slightly in front of it — so that Blinding Sand strikes the egg and causes the Solid Snake to spawn. If Phase 2 Blinding Sands are exhausted without success, Phase 3 provides another opportunity.
Kill the Solid Snake quickly
Once the Solid Snake spawns, all players must be alive and must kill it before it despawns. Merektha herself does not need to die for the achievement to complete, and resetting or killing her will despawn the snake even if it is already dead before all players receive credit.
Tips
A Hunter specced into Survival can solo this achievement by using Flare to reveal the egg, Misdirecting Merektha onto their pet to control her facing for Noxious Breath, and parking the pet under the bone arch for Blinding Sand targeting. If the attempt fails, Feign Death resets the encounter without losing the egg.
