Nerf Scrapbots
While facing XT-002 Deconstructor in Ulduar, using XE-321 Boombots to defeat 20 XS-013 Scrapbots within 12 seconds.
Nerf Scrapbots requires you to have 20 XS-013 Scrapbots die within 12 seconds during the XT-002 Deconstructor encounter in Ulduar, with XE-321 Boombots contributing to those deaths.
Clear the Boss Room
Enter Ulduar and clear all trash inside the XT-002 Deconstructor room before engaging the boss, so nothing interferes with the attempt.
Position Boss Near Junk Pile
Engage XT-002 Deconstructor and kite him to the north-western junk pile in the top-left corner of the room, facing him toward the room so that Scrapbot spawns funnel toward the Boombots.
Trigger Double Heart Phase
Lower XT-002's health to just below 50% to trigger two back-to-back Heartbreak phases; this is critical because it produces the large wave of XS-013 Scrapbots needed for the achievement. A Frost Mage, for example, can use a Water Elemental's Waterbolt to reach just above 50% and then one melee swing to push him below.
Snare Incoming Scrapbots
Once the Heartbreak phases begin, use area snares or slows — such as Mass Entanglement, Water Elemental's Freeze, Slow, or Mass Slow, or a Windwalker Monk's Ring of Peace — on the first group of XS-013 Scrapbots to cluster them near the XE-321 Boombots and prevent them from reaching the boss too early.
Detonate a Boombot
Single-target and kill one XE-321 Boombot while the XS-013 Scrapbots are clustered nearby; the Boombot's explosion will chain-kill the surrounding Scrapbots and count toward the 20-kill threshold. Note that the boss absorbing Scrapbots for health also counts toward the total, so 20 Scrapbots dying by any means within 12 seconds completes the achievement.
Reset if Attempt Fails
This achievement is heavily dependent on favorable Scrapbot spawn patterns and ideally zero or one Junkbot spawning during the phase. Classes with reset tools — such as a Hunter's Feign Death, a Rogue's Vanish, a Druid's Shadowmeld, or a Mage's Greater Invisibility — can reset the fight without leaving the instance, which is necessary given the high number of attempts typically required.
Tips
See the video guides linked for visual walkthroughs of positioning and Boombot detonation timing.
Avoid letting Scrapbots reach the boss and get absorbed before the Boombot detonates; if a group is too close to XT-002 at the end of the double Heartbreak phase, kill that group to prevent a premature count reset.
Kite XT-002 away from all Scrapbot spawns before he wakes from the Heartbreak phase so the next attempt starts with clean positioning.
