Shadow of the Betrayer
Complete the Shadowmoon Valley storylines listed below.
Shadow of the Betrayer is a 10-point achievement earned by completing specific Shadowmoon Valley storylines, requiring faction alignment, local quests, and a side trip to Nagrand.
Choose Aldor or Scryer Faction
In Shattrath, pick up the quest from Haggard War Veteran, which leads to A'dal and then to Archmage Khadgar for City of Light. At the conclusion of the tour, choose either the Aldor or the Scryer faction — this unlocks the Shadowmoon Valley questlines required for the achievement.
Complete Your Faction's Outpost Quests
Return to Shadowmoon Valley and pick up the new quest at your chosen faction's outpost. Completing the local quests there will finish the Akama's Promise storyline criterion.
Visit Altruis for Borrowed Power
Travel to Nagrand and find Altruis the Sufferer to advance the Borrowed Power storyline. Complete his quests, but skip Buying Time, as that quest starts a lengthy unrelated Nagrand chain.
Collect the Illidari-Bane Shard
Obtain the 
Illidari-Bane Shard from Overseer Ripsaw — this is a drop quest and is easy to overlook, so check your quest log to confirm it has been picked up.
Tips
If Borrowed Power is not progressing, Altruis the Sufferer in Nagrand is the correct NPC to advance that specific storyline as of patch 7.3.5.
