Defeat the Shade of Xavius while he has 10 stacks of Apocalyptic Empowerment in Darkheart Thicket on Mythic difficulty.

Burning Down the House requires you to defeat the Shade of Xavius while he has 10 stacks of Apocalyptic Empowerment in Darkheart Thicket on Mythic difficulty.

1

Remove Damage-Dealing Items

Before engaging Xavius, unequip any trinkets or items that deal passive damage to the boss, such as Vanquished Tendril of G'huun, as these can make stack management harder.

2

Clear to Xavius

Enter Darkheart Thicket on Mythic difficulty and defeat all bosses and enemies leading up to the Shade of Xavius.

3

Reduce Boss to 15%

Damage the Shade of Xavius down to approximately 15-20% health, at which point void zones begin spawning frequently across the arena floor.

4

Kite Boss Through Voidzones

Stop dealing damage and kite Xavius through the swirling void zones on the ground; each void zone that triggers while he stands in it grants him one stack of Apocalyptic Empowerment, and stacks last approximately 10 seconds, so keep him moving through new zones as old stacks expire.

5

Kill Boss at 10 Stacks

Once Xavius reaches 10 stacks of Apocalyptic Empowerment, visible beneath his portrait when he is your focus target, burst him down immediately to complete the achievement.

Tips

  • Attempting to stack at 50% health is too early — void zones spawn far too infrequently at that health threshold, so wait until he is at 5-15% before beginning the kiting phase.
