Defeat Krosus in The Nighthold after quenching 15 Burning Embers on Normal difficulty or higher.

Burning Bridges requires you to defeat Krosus in The Nighthold on Normal difficulty or higher after 15 Burning Embers have been quenched by falling into the water when Krosus destroys a bridge segment.

1

Enter The Nighthold

Set the difficulty to Normal or higher, then enter The Nighthold and make your way to Krosus on the Shattered Walkway.

2

Reduce Krosus's Health

Damage Krosus down to around 20% health, then stop or significantly reduce damage output so the fight lasts long enough for 15 Burning Embers to be quenched.

3

Allow Embers to Spawn

Do not stand under Burning Pitch when it lands — this causes Burning Embers to spawn on the bridge. Let embers accumulate on the bridge segments that Krosus is about to destroy rather than clearing them.

4

Let Bridge Sections Break

When Krosus slams and destroys a bridge segment, any Burning Embers on that segment fall into the water and are quenched. You have three bridge breaks before the fourth destroys the entire remaining walkway and kills you, so count the embers falling into the water and track progress toward 15.

5

Defeat Krosus After 15

Once 15 Burning Embers have been quenched, kill Krosus to complete the achievement. Stand on a segment of the bridge that is not about to break to avoid dying before the kill.

Tips

  • Hunter players can use Feign Death at the start of the walkway and let a pet attack Krosus, causing Burning Embers to spawn and stand idle without attacking — this makes it easier to control the fight pace and ember count.

  • If too many Burning Embers spawn on the final platform rather than on segments that break, reset the attempt by dying, as the achievement cannot be satisfied in that run.

  • The in-game achievement tracker may not visually update during the fight — some players have completed the achievement without seeing it turn white until after Krosus is dead, so continue to count embers falling into the water manually.

  • See video guide for a visual walkthrough of this strategy.
