Buggy Fight
Defeat Nythendra in The Emerald Nightmare after squishing 15 Glow Bugs on Normal difficulty or higher.
Buggy Fight is a 10-point achievement earned by defeating Nythendra in The Emerald Nightmare on Normal difficulty or higher after squishing 15 Glow Bugs during the fight.
Set Difficulty to Normal
Enter The Emerald Nightmare on Normal difficulty. Do not use Mythic difficulty, as stacking debuffs will kill you before you can squish all 15 Glow Bugs.
Remove Auto-Damage Effects
Remove any gear or effects that deal automatic damage to Nythendra before the fight begins, as killing the boss prematurely will end your attempt before reaching 15 squishes.
Begin Fight and Stop Attacking
Pull Nythendra with a single opening attack, then stop dealing damage entirely. She spends 50 energy each time she casts Nightmare Breath, so the phases are purely time-based and you do not need to damage her at all.
Wait for Heart of the Swarm
After Nythendra casts Nightmare Breath twice she reaches 0 energy, falls asleep, and enters Heart of the Swarm. About halfway through this phase, Glow Bugs spawn around the edge of the room — they appear red, grow larger than normal, and display a cogwheel icon when hovered over.
Squish the Glow Bugs
Click each Glow Bug to cast Squish, which triggers a short cast followed by a jumping animation. Approximately 4 to 5 Glow Bugs spawn per Heart of the Swarm phase, giving you up to 5 phases to reach 15 total squishes before killing Nythendra.
Defeat Nythendra
Once you have squished 15 Glow Bugs across the Heart of the Swarm phases, resume attacking and defeat Nythendra to earn the achievement. Note that the in-game achievement tracker does not update in real time when criteria are met.
Tips
The Blizzard achievement tracker does not update live during the fight, so count your squishes manually or use the video guides linked above to learn Glow Bug spawn locations before your attempt.
