Defeat Xhul'horac in Hellfire Citadel without triggering any Shadowfel Annihilations on Normal difficulty or higher.

You Gotta Keep 'em Separated requires defeating Xhul'horac in Hellfire Citadel on Normal difficulty or higher without triggering any Shadowfel Annihilations, which means keeping fire and shadow pools separated across opposite sides of the platform throughout the fight.

1

Enter and Reach Xhul'horac

Enter Hellfire Citadel and defeat Xhul'horac. At max level this is soloable — burst him down fast to minimize mechanic complexity entirely.

2

Position Boss Near Green Portal

Keep Xhul'horac on the edge of the platform toward the green portal side when dropping fire patches, giving those patches the maximum distance to spread without overlapping shadow pools.

3

Drag Boss to Shadow Side

When dealing with shadow pools, drag Xhul'horac all the way to the opposite side of the platform so shadow pools are deposited as far from the fire patches as possible, preventing any Shadowfel Annihilation triggers.

4

Interrupt and Kill Imps

Melee should keep imps interrupted or killed before they can complete a cast, as the imps pose no significant threat when handled this way.

5

Dodge Void Elemental Attacks

Void elemental adds do not drop pools of their own as long as all players dodge their attacks correctly, so dodging is critical to keeping the platform clean.

6

Tank Swap Fast After Omnus Dies

After Omnus is killed and Xhul'horac changes colors, tanks must taunt swap very quickly to prevent both tanks from carrying the void debuff simultaneously. If high DPS causes both tanks to hold the void debuff at once in the third phase, a third tank can be assigned to handle either Omnus or the fel strikes in the third and fourth phases.
